Bacterial Sepsis Infection Testing
Overview
CORbio hPCT
Bacterial Sepsis Infection Testing
PCT (Procalcitonin) is a biomarker specifically elevated in bacterial infections and is used in the
early diagnosis of sepsis and severe infections.
As it remains relatively low in viral infections and non-bacterial inflammatory conditions, it is
useful for differentiating the etiology of infection.
It is also an important clinical indicator for guiding antibiotic therapy decisions and monitoring
treatment response.
