Kidney Function (GFR) Assessment Testing
Overview
CORbio Cystatin-C
Kidney Function (GFR) Assessment Testing
Cystatin-C is a low-molecular-weight protein produced consistently by all nucleated cells and is a sensitive indicator of glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Less affected by muscle mass, age, and sex, it is considered a more accurate marker of renal function than serum creatinine. The Cystatin C test plays a key role in the early diagnosis of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and monitoring changes in renal function.
