Bacterial Sepsis Infection Testing
KL-6 is a high-molecular-weight glycoprotein released following alveolar epithelial cell injury and is regarded as a sensitive biomarker for interstitial lung disease. It is particularly useful for assessing disease activity and prognosis in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and various forms of interstitial lung disease. Blood KL-6 levels are used as an important indicator for monitoring disease progression and treatment response.
